‘Self reflection portrait’
“Ich vermisse” is “I miss you ” in German.
During my daily walk with my 10 month old daugther, lost in my own feelings and thoughts ,
I miss my home Cairo, my friends , my family , the warm weather and my pre-pregnancy body.
The anxiety of not knowing the future, but of knowing the present; of being unable to communicate in my new home…
having a foreign tongue and not mastering the local one ; and keeping the social distancing.
I embodied my inner reflection into the autumn leaf.
I have to accept the new reality.
